Ladies
No young lady will shine in society if she is vain, foolish or self-indulgent. Neither shall she appear cold or unnapproachable, but move with grace and easiness. However, young ladies must repeatedly be reminded that beauty and a fine dress are not enough for them to succeed in society. They must also display a high moral sense, a fine mind and a graceful demeanour. Conducting yourself in conversation is a fine balancing act, as a young ladies reputation is as brittle as it is beautiful.
Dearest Gentle Reader,
But should a young lady not be valued for so much more than her dancing skills or her comportment? Should we not value her instead for her candour, her character, her true accomplishments?
And should young ladies not find strength in their sensibility and in each other? Societys hindrance and marriage is constantly the grave of female friendships, so let us rejoice in our womanly hearts and the meaningfulness of sisterhood
